If you are interested in becoming Catholic or are Catholic and have not received all of the Sacraments of Initiation, we look forward to helping you on your faith journey!
Our Adult Faith Formation process is designed to serve the following needs:
- those who were never baptized and want to become Catholic
- those baptized in other Christian faiths and want to join the Catholic Church
- those baptized Catholic but have not received Confirmation and First Communion
- those baptized Catholic, received First Communion, but have not received Confirmation.
- those, baptized or not, who just want to learn more about the Catholic Faith
- those Catholics who want to enrich their faith and learn more
What is OCIA (formerly known as RCIA)? The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is how
Parishes welcome new members into the Catholic Church through a process of education, faith sharing, and rituals known as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). This process includes several stages marked by prayer, study, and discussion.

What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is the anointing with sacred chrism by the bishop or priest which signifies the gift of the Holy Spirit. This sacrament gives us special divine strength to share and "defend our faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ" and increases the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in us. (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1303)
Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation , along with Baptism and Eucharist.

Confirmation Sponsor:
A sponsor is the candidate’s faith mentor; someone they can talk to about faith. This person would also be the person who stands beside the candidate during their Confirmation. All sponsors need to be active, practicing, and fully initiated Catholics.

When do classes start?
Our classes start in November and run twice per month on Wednesday evenings from 6:30p-8:30p at Blessed Sacrament Church. Dates for 2024-2025

The Importance of Sunday Mass
The best way to learn about the Catholic Faith is from other Catholics, and the best place to do this is at Sunday Mass. The Church doors are open to everyone! We encourage you to come to Mass and experience the Liturgy. As Catholics we believe that the Mass is the central act of worship in the life of a Catholic.
